Two-time Olympic triple jumper Ana José Tima has been banned for three years for a doping case, track and field’s Athletic Integrity Unit said Wednesday.
José Tima was also disqualified from all results since January 2022, including his 10th-place finish at the world championships held last year in Eugene, Oregon.

The 33-year-old athlete from the Dominican Republic is suspended until January 2025. She got a one-year reduction from a possible four-year ban for admitting to doping, the AIU said.

José Tima tested positive last November in his home country for ostarine, which aids muscle growth and has effects similar to anabolic steroids, and the substance GW501516, which failed in medical trials more than a decade ago.

At the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, she did not advance from qualifying to the triple jump final.
