BOSTON — The daughter of House Democratic Leader Katherine Clark has been charged with assault after an altercation with a police officer who was trying to arrest her for allegedly spray-painting anti-police messages on the bandstand on Boston Common. .
Riley Dowell, 23, was seen defacing the bandstand with “NO COP CITY” and “ACAB,” short for “all cops are bastards,” during a protest Saturday night. Dowell is non-binary and was identified in a police press release Domingo by his birth name.
As she was being arrested, police said about 20 protesters began surrounding the officers, chanting profanity and disrupting traffic. During that time, one officer was “hit in the face and could be seen bleeding from his nose and mouth.”
