The potential of medical cannabis in Colombia
With the possibility of exporting dried medicinal cannabis flower and promoting the development of derived products such as food or beverages, an opportunity opens up for Colombia to become a power in this incipient industry, which is estimated to move up to 200,000 million dollars in the world.
To date, the Ministry of Justice has authorized the cultivation of psychoactive and non-psychoactive cannabis to more than a thousand companies spread throughout the national territory. In particular, some departments such as Meta, Magdalena, Cundinamarca, Valle del Cauca or Antioquia stand out.
These companies are currently working to sign commercial agreements that allow them to take the dried cannabis flower to countries such as Australia, Israel, Germany, Brazil and Thailand, among others.
